Picos Sports Society
Traditional club from the interior of Piauí, based in the city of Picos. It is one of the main representatives of Piauí football outside the capital Teresina.
History
Picos Sports Society was founded in 1976 in the city of Picos, an important commercial hub in the interior of Piauí. The club adopted yellow and black colors, which gave rise to the nickname Bumblebee. The team quickly established itself as the main club in the interior of the state, breaking the hegemony of Teresina's teams in the Piauí State Championship and playing their home matches at Estádio Helvídio Nunes de Barros. Throughout its history, Picos competed in several editions of the state elite and represented Piauí in national competitions, such as the Brazilian Championship Series D. The club remains active and is a frequent presence in professional Piauí football.
