Porto Velho Sports Club was founded in 2017 in the capital of Rondônia, emerging as a modern project to strengthen professional football in the state, historically lacking structured clubs. The rise was swift: the club rose to professionalism, consolidated itself in the state elite and won the Rondônia Championship in 2022, securing spots in the Brazilian Cup, Copa Verde and the Brazilian Serie D Championship. Known as the Locomotive, Porto Velho plays its home games at Aluízio Ferreira Stadium and established itself as one of the main representatives of Rondônia on the national scene, competing for top positions in the state championship year after year.
