History

Founded in 2002 in the city of Pouso Alegre, an industrial and educational hub in southern Minas Gerais, Pouso Alegre FC was born with the mission to represent regional football in competitions of greater prominence. The club quickly gained its own identity within the local community, which found in it a form of regional sports expression. Throughout its early years, Pouso Alegre FC competed in the Campeonato Mineiro in the access divisions, facing major structural adversities common to interior football. The revelation of talents through youth categories became one of the club's hallmarks, with players who pursued careers in larger clubs in the state and country. The club participated in national youth competitions, including the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, showing the potential of the southern Minas Gerais region for training athletes. The gradual management of the sports and administrative structure over the years allowed the club to grow in a sustainable way. Currently, Pouso Alegre FC competes in the divisions of the Campeonato Mineiro and in national access competitions, proudly representing the city and the southern Minas Gerais region in the Brazilian football scene.
