Queens Park Rangers
London club founded in 1882, traditional in English football, with spells in the elite of domestic football and currently competing in the Championship.
History
Queens Park Rangers was founded in 1882 from the merger of St. Jude's and Christchurch Rangers clubs, in west London. Throughout its history, the club alternated between the main divisions of English football, being a team known for its loyal supporters despite never having won the top title of domestic football. The historic peak of QPR occurred in the 1975-76 season, when it finished as runner-up in the then First Division, the greatest campaign in the club's history in the English elite. The team also won the English League Cup in 1967, becoming the first club from a lower division to win the competition. In the 2010s, QPR had spells in the Premier League, including promotion achieved in 2011 and again in 2014 via the Championship playoffs, but failed to maintain itself among the country's best clubs, returning to the second division on both occasions.
