History

Founded in 1950 in the city of Querétaro, the club built its trajectory alternating between first and second division stints in Mexican football. It plays its home matches at Estadio La Corregidora, inaugurated in 1985 for the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. The moment of greatest international repercussion came in 2014, with the signing of Brazilian Ronaldinho Gaúcho. With the star player on the field, Gallos Blancos reached the final of the Clausura 2015 Tournament of Liga MX, losing the title to Santos Laguna — the best campaign in the club's league history. In 2016, Querétaro won the Copa MX Apertura, overcoming Guadalajara in the final, and the following year won the Supercopa MX, the main trophies in its history. The club continues as a traditional presence in Mexican football's elite.
