History
Founded in 1913 in the city of Santander, capital of Cantabria, Racing is one of the founding clubs of La Liga in 1929. Throughout its history, it alternated between periods in the first and second divisions of Spanish football, being one of the most traditional clubs in northern Spain. The club's recent peak came in the 2000s, when it won the Copa del Rey in 2008, defeating Real Zaragoza in the final, the greatest title in Racing's history.
