RC Lens
Club from northern France known for its passionate fanbase and for its historic French championship title in 1998.
History
Racing Club de Lens was founded in 1906 in the Pas-de-Calais region, historically linked to the coal mining industry of the area. The club experienced its most glorious moment in 1998, when it won the only French Championship title in its history, surprising the country's major teams. After years alternating between the first and second divisions, Lens made a strong return to Ligue 1 in the 2020s, even competing in the UEFA Champions League in 2023.
