FC Red Bull Salzburg

FC Red Bull Salzburg is currently the dominant club in Austrian football, after being acquired by the Red Bull company in 2005. Originally founded in 1933 as SV Austria Salzburg, the club underwent a radical transformation that made it a powerhouse in European football. The Red Bull Arena has a capacity of around 30,000 supporters and is one of the most modern stadiums in Austria.

History

After being acquired by Red Bull in 2005, the club came to dominate Austrian football almost absolutely, winning numerous consecutive national titles. Salzburg became famous for its aggressive playing philosophy and for revealing talents to the world's biggest clubs, such as Erling Haaland, Sadio Mané, and Naby Keïta. The club reached the Europa League semi-finals in 2018 and regularly competes in the Champions League group stage. It is part of a global network of Red Bull clubs, including RB Leipzig from Germany.
