Resende Football Club
Resende Football Club is the main representative of the interior of Rio de Janeiro state in national football, founded in 1943 in the city of Resende. The club competes in the Campeonato Carioca and national series, being known as the Giant of Paraíba Valley.
History
Resende FC was founded in 1943 in the city of Resende, located in the Middle Paraíba region, in the south of Rio de Janeiro state. Since its foundation, the club became the main team of the region, representing with pride the cities of South Fluminense in state and national competitions. Resende competed in the Campeonato Carioca for decades, measuring strength with the great clubs of Rio de Janeiro and facing teams from the interior of Rio de Janeiro state in fierce regional disputes. At the turn of the 21st century, the club expanded its aspirations and began to participate in the national series of Brazilian football. With solid grassroots structure, Resende formed several players who pursued careers in larger clubs. The Estádio do Trabalhador is where the team receives its fans, home to the club's main achievements throughout its decades of history.
