History
Retrô FC was founded in 2013 in Pernambuco with a proposal that broke from convention: to honor the aesthetics of classic football through uniforms, visual identity and all club communications inspired by the 1970s and 1980s. The idea attracted supporters throughout Brazil, far beyond Pernambuco's borders. In its early years, the club competed in amateur and semi-professional divisions of Pernambuco football, building its structure and fan base. The arrival at Series D of the Brazilian Championship was the first major test on the national stage. Retrô's rise was meteoric by Brazilian football standards. In less than a decade of existence, the club reached Series B of the Brazilian Championship, a remarkable feat for a young team without the structures of the major northeastern clubs. With professional, modern management aligned with new generations of supporters, Retrô FC became a sports marketing phenomenon in Brazil, being cited as an example of an innovative project in national football.
