Club Atlético Rosario Central
Rosario Central is one of the oldest clubs in Argentina, founded in 1889 by British railway workers. Known as 'El Canalla', the club plays against Newell's Old Boys in the Rosario classico, one of the most intense rivalries in the country. In 2018, the club reached the final of the Copa Sudamericana.
History
Rosario Central was founded by employees of the Central Argentine Railway Company, which explains its name and its colors inherited from the British company. The club won its first important national titles in the 1970s and 1980s, with players who became national icons. Ángel Di María and Éver Banega are the club's most illustrious sons in recent generations. The Gigante de Arroyito is considered one of the most impressive football atmospheres in Argentina.
