Rotherham United
Rotherham United is an English club from Rotherham, in South Yorkshire, founded in 1925. Known as The Millers, it plays at New York Stadium and has won the EFL trophy twice.
History
Rotherham United was founded in 1925, from the merger of Rotherham County and Rotherham Town. The club spent most of its history in the lower divisions of English football and won the Third Division North in 1950-51. For decades, the team played its matches at Millmoor. After leaving the stadium in 2008, it played temporarily in Sheffield and, in 2012, inaugurated the New York Stadium, in Rotherham, where it plays to this day. Rotherham won the Football League trophy (now EFL Trophy) in 1996 and in 2022, the latter with a 4-2 victory over Sutton United in the final. The club also won the Fourth Division in 1988-89 and rose to the Championship in recent seasons, alternating between the lower divisions and the second division of English football.
