The team was highly significant in the early decades of Belgian football, even hosting matches from the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp. After a long period away from the top of national football, the club experienced a renaissance starting from the 2010s, with investments that brought it back to the Belgian elite. In 2023, Antwerp won the Belgian Championship title for the first time since 1957, a historic milestone for supporters, complemented by winning the Belgian Cup in the same season.
