Salgueiro Atlético Clube is the main football club in the city of Salgueiro, in the sertão region of Pernambuco. Founded in 1933, it proudly represents inland northeastern football, regularly competing in the Pernambuco Championship and base divisions of the Brazilian Championship.

Founded in 1933 in the city of Salgueiro, in the sertão region of Pernambuco, Salgueiro Atlético Clube was born from the passion for football of inland northeastern communities. The club represents one of the most traditional regions of Pernambuco, where sertanejo culture and the legacy of cangaço deeply shape local identity. Over the decades, Salgueiro established itself as one of the most traditional clubs in inland Pernambuco, competing in repeated editions of the Pernambuco Championship and revealing talents who went on to play for clubs of greater national prominence. Cornélio de Barros Stadium is the heart of the club and the stage for its main matches. The club participated in editions of Serie C and Serie D of the Brazilian Championship, representing with dignity the football of the northeastern sertão.
