Esporte Clube São Bento
Esporte Clube São Bento is a football club founded in 1914 in Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo. Known as Azulão, the club has a long tradition in São Paulo football and has competed in several editions of the Brazilian Championship Series B and Series C, being a reference for inland São Paulo football.
History
Founded in 1914 in the city of Sorocaba, Esporte Clube São Bento quickly became one of the most representative clubs in the interior of São Paulo. With blue as the predominant color of its identity, Azulão built a base of loyal fans in the Sorocaba region and in neighboring municipalities. Throughout its history, the club competed in the São Paulo Championship in numerous editions, facing the state's biggest clubs and revealing talents who pursued careers in Brazil's top clubs. São Bento is a training hub for players in inland São Paulo. The Walter Ribeiro Stadium, home of the club, is the stage for regional derbies and decisive matches. With capacity for approximately 10,000 fans, the stadium becomes a cauldron on the club's most important nights. The club also participated in expressive campaigns in the Brazilian Championship Series C, seeking to return to Series B. São Bento represents the importance of inland São Paulo football, demonstrating that talent and passion for football are not restricted to the capitals.
