São José Esporte Clube is a traditional club from the interior of São Paulo, founded in 1938 in São José dos Campos. It regularly competes in the Campeonato Paulista and in the youth categories of Brazilian football, being a reference in football in the Vale do Paraíba region.

History

Founded in 1938 in the city of São José dos Campos, in the Vale do Paraíba region of São Paulo, São José Esporte Clube built its history over decades as one of the pillars of regional football. The club is known by the nickname Águia do Vale (Eagle of the Valley), in reference to the pride of the city that supports it. Martins Pereira Stadium, its home, became a symbol of the region's football, hosting matches of the Campeonato Paulista over the decades and generating great moments for the local supporters. The structure underwent reforms over the years to better serve national competitions. In national competitions, São José EC participated in editions of the Série C and Série D of the Campeonato Brasileiro, admirably representing the Vale do Paraíba. The club is also recognized for its work in youth categories, revealing players to larger Brazilian clubs. With more than eight decades of history, São José EC maintains its identity as one of the most traditional institutions of football in the interior of São Paulo, being a source of pride for the city of São José dos Campos.
