São José EC Women's

History
São José Esporte Clube, founded in 1933 in São José dos Campos, built one of the most successful women's football projects in the history of sports in Brazil. Between the end of the 2000s and mid-2010s, the team gathered some of the country's leading players and dominated the continental scene. The team won the Women's Copa Libertadores three times — 2011, 2013, and 2014 — becoming a reference for South American women's football. In 2014, it crowned the victorious cycle by also winning the Women's Club World Cup held in Japan, defeating standout teams from Europe and Asia. Historic names of the Brazilian National Team passed through the Josefense squad, such as midfielder Formiga, the record holder for appearances in World Cups and Olympic Games. Even with the decline in investment in the following years, São José remains remembered as one of the clubs that most contributed to establishing women's football in Brazil.
