History

Founded in 1924 in the Passo D'Areia neighborhood, Esporte Clube São José built its trajectory as one of the most traditional clubs in the Gaucho capital, competing in state competitions throughout nearly a century of existence. Over the decades, the club alternated participations between the access divisions of the Gaucho Championship, maintaining strong ties with the local community and revealing athletes to regional football. Passo D'Areia, its historic stadium, remains a symbol of the club's identity within Porto Alegre's sporting landscape.
