São Paulo 1975
São Paulo's 1975 team was the São Paulo State champion, a title that placed the club back at the top of the state after the championships of 1970 and 1971. The team played at Morumbi, inaugurated in 1960.
History
São Paulo Football Club was founded on January 25, 1930, and built its trajectory as one of the great clubs of Brazilian football. In the early 1970s, the team had already won the São Paulo State Championship in 1970 and 1971. In 1975, the tricolor returned to be state champion, in a decade when the São Paulo State Championship was disputed by strong rivals such as Palmeiras, Santos, and Corinthians. The title entered the club's history as part of the consolidation phase of Morumbi as the tricolor's home. The squad of that era featured names linked to the club's history, such as goalkeeper Waldir Peres and Uruguayan striker Pedro Rocha. The Morumbi Stadium, inaugurated in 1960, was already the main stage for the team.
