São Paulo 2024 opened the season with the unprecedented conquest of the Brazilian Super Cup, defeating Palmeiras on penalties at Mineirão. Throughout the year, the club replaced Thiago Carpini with Argentine Luis Zubeldía and finished the Brazilian Championship in sixth place.

History

The 2024 season began with São Paulo as the champion of the 2023 Brazilian Cup, which gave them the right to dispute the Brazilian Super Cup against Palmeiras, the Brazilian champion. On February 4, 2024, at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, the teams drew 0-0 and Tricolor won 4-2 on penalties, winning the Brazilian Super Cup for the first time in its history. Coach Thiago Carpini, responsible for the title, left his position in the first half of the year and was replaced by Argentine Luis Zubeldía. Under new command, the team supported by players such as Lucas Moura, Jonathan Calleri and Robert Arboleda advanced in the cup competitions, but stopped in the quarterfinals of the two main ones: it was eliminated by Atlético-MG in the Brazilian Cup and by Botafogo, on penalties, in the Copa Libertadores. In the Brazilian Championship, São Paulo finished in sixth place and secured a spot in the 2025 Copa Libertadores. The season was marked as the club's first Super Cup conquest and as the beginning of Zubeldía's work at Morumbis.
