History

São Paulo closed its women's football department in the 1990s and only officially reactivated it in 2019, following pressure from female fans and the CBF for greater professionalization of women's football in Brazil. Since then, the club has invested in its own infrastructure at the Barra Funda training center, building a squad with athletes from different Brazilian states. The team made its debut in the Brazilian Women's Championship in 2019 and has been gradually expanding its fanbase and investment, also competing in youth competitions such as the U-17 and U-20 São Paulo Women's Championships.
