São Paulo FC Women
Women's team of São Paulo Futebol Clube, reactivated in 2015 after decades without a professional women's team at the club. It became one of the main forces in women's football in São Paulo.
History
São Paulo had a brief experience with women's football in the 1990s, but the project was discontinued for many years. In 2015, the club restructured its women's department, investing in grassroots categories and the professional team, seeking to recover lost ground against rivals such as Corinthians and Santos. Over the following decade, the team grew in structure, using the Barra Funda training center for training sessions and playing matches at stadiums such as Canindé. The team established itself as competitive in the São Paulo scene, winning the Women's São Paulo Championship in 2021, as well as regularly competing in the Women's Brazilian Championship A1. The club also began investing in athlete development, producing players for the Brazilian national team and strengthening the grassroots to compete nationally with greater regularity.
