São Raimundo Esporte Clube
São Raimundo Esporte Clube is one of the most traditional clubs in the state of Amazonas, founded in 1941 in Manaus. Multiple-time Amazonas championship winner, the King of the Hill is an icon of football in the North region of Brazil and a reference in the development of sports in the state.
History
Founded on August 29, 1941 in the São Raimundo neighborhood in Manaus, the club was born from the enthusiasm of young residents of the region and quickly became one of the pillars of Amazonas football. The nickname King of the Hill refers to the topography of the neighborhood that originated the club. Throughout its history, São Raimundo won the Amazonas Championship more than a dozen times, ranking among the most successful clubs in the state tournament. Its rivalry with Nacional-AM is one of the oldest and most heated in North Brazilian football. The Carlos Zamith Stadium, located in Manaus, is the historical home of the club, site of the King of the Hill's greatest achievements. The stadium has modest capacity, but carries the emotional memory of generations of Amazonas fans. In national competitions, São Raimundo has participated in editions of Series D of the Brazilian Championship, worthily representing the football of the North region. The club invests in the training of young local athletes, contributing to the development of football in Amazonas.
