Serra Talhada Futebol Clube
Football club from Pernambuco in the Sertão of Pajeú, one of the main representatives of Pernambuco's interior in national football. Regularly competes in the Pernambuco Championship and in competitions of Series D of the Brazilian Championship.
History
Founded in 2003 in the city of Serra Talhada, in the interior of Pernambuco, the club quickly became a force in northeastern hinterland football, contrasting with the hegemony of the major clubs in the capital Recife. Throughout the 2010s and 2020s, Serra Talhada consolidated constant presence in the first division of the Pernambuco Championship, alternating participations in Series C and D of the Brazilian Championship. The team is known for its grit and identification with sertanejo culture, being nicknamed Cabra da Peste as a reference to the traditional figure of the northeastern sertanejo. It plays its matches at Souza Moraes Stadium, which draws good crowds by the standards of Pernambuco's interior. Among its main achievements are titles in promotion divisions of Pernambuco football, which secured the club stability in the state elite in several recent seasons.
