September Seventh Sports Club is a club from Garanhuns, in the interior of Pernambuco, founded on September 7, 1950 in tribute to Brazil's Independence. It plays its home games at the Marco Antônio Maciel Stadium, the Giant of the Interior.

History

The club was founded on September 7, 1950, a date chosen as a tribute to Brazil's Independence. In its early years, it dominated local competitions and became Garanhuns' six-time champion. Its debut in the Pernambuco Championship took place in 1982. Since then, Verdão remained in the state's top division for twelve consecutive years, until 1994. Its best campaign in the first division was in 1984, when it finished in fifth place overall. The greatest achievement in the club's history is the Series A2 title of the Pernambuco Championship in 1995, obtained with 15 victories, 5 draws and only one defeat. After ten years in the second division, the club returned to the elite in 2021, but was relegated to the third state division in 2022.
