ŠK Slovan Bratislava
The biggest club in Slovakia and the most successful in the history of Slovak football, founded in 1919. The only club in Central Europe to win a European Cup, it won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1969 by defeating Barcelona 3-2 in the final.
History
Founded on May 3, 1919 as I. ČSŠK Bratislava, the club went through decades of Central European history. Its greatest glory came on May 21, 1969, when it defeated Barcelona 3-2 in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup, becoming the only Slovak club to win a European title. With 24 league titles and regular participation in European competitions, it competed in the league phase of the Champions League 2024-25.
