Social Futebol Clube is a club from Coronel Fabriciano, in Minas Gerais, founded on October 1, 1944. It plays its matches at Estádio Louis Ensch, inaugurated in 1950, and competed in Serie C of the Brazilian Championship in 1997.

History

Social was founded on October 1, 1944, more than four years before the emancipation of Coronel Fabriciano, which previously belonged to Antônio Dias. The influence of merchants from Antônio Dias led to the idea of calling the club Comercial, but the chosen name was Social, to represent all social classes of the city. In the early years, the players were generally workers from the Belgo-Mineira steel company. The fan base was formed mainly by residents of downtown Fabriciano, from various social classes. The club's first professional match was played in 1981. In 1997, Social played in Serie C of the Brazilian Championship and reached the second phase, in which it was eliminated by Juventus de São Paulo. The club plays its matches at Estádio Louis Ensch, inaugurated in 1950, with a maximum capacity of approximately 6,000 people.
