FC Spartak Moscow
Spartak Moscow is the most popular football club in Russia and one of the largest in Eastern Europe. Founded in 1922, the club is historically associated with the Russian people in contrast to clubs linked to the Soviet state. It is the club with the most titles of the Soviet Championship and one of the most successful in the Russian Premier League.
History
Spartak Moscow won 12 Soviet Championship titles, more than any other club, and dominated the post-Soviet era with 10 consecutive Russian Premier League titles between 1992 and 2001. The club reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 1990-91, its best European campaign. Legends like Fedor Cherenkov, Rinat Dasaev and Brazilian Robson de Souza (Robinho) made history at the club. Spartak is known for its talent training school.
