History
Founded in 1910, Sporting Clube Farense is the main club in the Algarve region of Portugal. Throughout more than a century of existence, the club had periods in the Portuguese first division, being recognized by the passion of its fans in the city of Faro. The club faced financial and administrative difficulties at various moments in its history, but always maintained local relevance, returning to the elite of Portuguese football in recent seasons after restructuring. São Luís Stadium is Farense's traditional home, the stage for important matches in Algarvian football over the decades.
