Sporting Club of Portugal
Sporting Club of Portugal is one of the three major Portuguese football clubs and one of the most traditional in Europe. Founded in 1906, the club is known for its famous academy, which has revealed talents such as Cristiano Ronaldo to the world. The Lions are a symbol of Portuguese football and have a passionate fan base spread throughout the country.
History
Sporting CP won its first Portuguese championship in 1923 and since then has accumulated 19 national titles. The club won the UEFA Cup in 2021, ending a long drought of European titles. The Sporting academy is considered one of the best in the world, having formed elite players who compete in Europe's top leagues. In the 2000s, the club experienced a golden era with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Hugo Viana.
