Esporte Clube Taubaté is a traditional club from the interior of São Paulo founded in 1932 in Taubaté, in the Paraíba Valley. Nicknamed Burro da Central in honor of the railway that crossed the city, it is a symbol of regional football in São Paulo.

Founded in 1932 in the city of Taubaté, in the Paraíba Valley, Esporte Clube Taubaté built its history with perseverance and regional identity. The nickname Burro da Central refers to the mule trains that used the Central Brazil Railway, an essential line for the city's development. Joaquim de Morais Filho Stadium, known as Joaquinzão, is the red-and-white club's home and the stage for disputes in the São Paulo Championship throughout the decades. The club participated in various state divisions and appeared in editions of the Brazilian Championship Series C.
