History

Tramways Football Club emerged in Recife in 1934, formed by employees of the Pernambuco Tramways and Power Company, an English company responsible for the trams and electrical power of the Pernambuco capital. In very little time the club became a local powerhouse, conquering the 1936 Pernambuco Championship and repeating the title in 1937, campaigns that marked an era and placed it among the state's greats in that period. Despite the lightning-quick success, the club had a short life in professional football and disappeared from the main scene in the following years, remaining as one of the most curious chapters in the history of Pernambuco football.
