Tupi Football Club is a centennial club from Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, known by the nickname Fantasma. One of the most traditional clubs in the interior of Minas Gerais, the club competed in several editions of the Série B of the Brazilian Championship and has a long history in Minas Gerais football.

History

Founded on May 12, 1912, Tupi Football Club is one of the oldest sports associations in Minas Gerais. Born in Juiz de Fora, an important industrial and cultural hub of the state, the club built over more than a century a history marked by intense rivalries and moments of great prominence in the regional scene. Fantasma, as it is affectionately called by its fans, competed in the Minas Gerais Championship on several occasions throughout the 20th century, facing the traditional teams of the state. Mário Helênio Stadium, its historic home, was the stage for memorable matches against local and renowned visiting rivals. In the 1980s and 1990s, the club experienced moments of national prominence, participating in the Série B of the Brazilian Championship and facing teams from across the country. This phase consolidated Tupi as a reference in Minas Gerais football outside the capital. The club maintains its relevance in the state scene, representing the tradition and passion for football in the second largest city of Minas Gerais. With over 110 years of history, Tupi FC is a sports symbol of Juiz de Fora.
