History

Founded on January 3, 1922, Uberlândia EC emerged from a passion for football in one of the most prosperous cities in Minas Gerais. In its early decades, the club established its presence on the regional stage, becoming a reference for football in the Triângulo Mineiro region and competing with teams from the capital and other inland cities. Throughout the 20th century, the Lion of the Triangle systematically participated in the Minas Gerais Championship, facing giants such as Atlético Mineiro, Cruzeiro, and América Mineiro. Its stadium, Parque do Sabiá, located in one of the largest sports complexes in the state, became the main stage for the team's battles. In the 2000s and 2010s, the club alternated spells in Series C and Series D of the Brazilian Championship, keeping the flame of football alive in the city. Uberlandia's fans have always been faithful, attending matches in large numbers and turning Parque do Sabiá into a cauldron in regional duels. Currently, Uberlândia EC remains one of the most traditional representatives of inland Minas Gerais, competing in the Minas Gerais Championship and seeking a return to the major national divisions.
