History
Founded in 1976, Umuarama Sports Club emerged to represent the city of Umuarama, one of the economic hubs of the northwest region of Paraná, during a period of expansion of organized football in the interior of the state. Since its foundation, the club has been the main responsible for keeping alive the local football tradition, regularly competing in the access divisions of the Paranaense Championship and serving as a developer of athletes for larger clubs in the state. Like most clubs from medium-sized cities in the interior of Paraná, Umuarama SC faces financial and structural challenges, which limit more consistent disputes in the state elite, but do not diminish its relevance as the sports identity of the city. The club remains active, being an important part of the schedule of amateur and semi-professional football in the northwest region of Paraná.
