União São João Esporte Clube

The União São João is a football club from the city of Araras, in the interior of São Paulo, with notable appearances in national youth competitions and lower divisions.

History

Founded in 1946 in Araras, União São João established itself as one of the leading clubs in the interior of São Paulo outside the major capitals. The club became nationally recognized for developing talent in the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior and for outstanding campaigns in the Campeonato Paulista and in Serie D of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Throughout its history, the Papão from Araras alternated seasons between the first and second divisions of the São Paulo state championship, maintaining its relevance in the landscape of interior football.
