History

Founded in 1897 by members of the Spanish colony residing in Santiago, Union Espanola is one of the oldest and most traditional clubs in Chilean football, with strong cultural identity linked to Spain. The club won multiple Chilean Championship titles throughout the 20th century, establishing itself among the main forces in the country's football, alongside Colo-Colo, Universidad de Chile, and Universidad Catolica. With headquarters at Estadio Santa Laura, Union Espanola maintains tradition in player development and constant presence in continental competitions organized by CONMEBOL.
