History
Founded on November 19, 1908 in Nova Lima, a municipality in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte historically marked by mining, Villa Nova quickly established itself among the forces of Minas Gerais football. It participated in the Minas Gerais Championship since its earliest editions, rivaling the major clubs from the capital. The Minas Gerais Championship title in 1948 is the main achievement in its history, consolidating the club among the best in the state at that time. Matches against Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro generated memorable classics that mobilized fans from Greater Belo Horizonte. With more than a century of existence, Villa Nova maintains its active sports structure in Nova Lima, revealing generations of players for Minas Gerais football. Castor Cifuentes Stadium is the symbol of the club's identity.
