Esporte Clube Vitória Women's

Women's football department of Esporte Clube Vitória, founded in 2019 as part of the professionalization movement of women's teams in Serie A clubs of Brazilian men's football. It represents the red and black tradition of Bahia in women's competitions.

History

Vitória's women's team emerged in 2019 as part of Brazilian clubs' adaptation to CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) regulations that began requiring structured women's departments. Since its creation, the team has competed in the Baiano Women's Championship and access competitions in Brazilian national women's football. The club has gradually invested in women's youth development, seeking to develop athletes for the main team and strengthen the sport in a state historically focused on men's football. The Lioness of Barra today represents one of Vitória's commitments to expand its institutional presence in women's football in Bahia and at the national level.
