Esporte Clube Vitória is one of the oldest clubs in Brazil, founded in 1899 in Salvador. The Leão da Barra plays the famous Ba-Vi classic against Bahia, one of the most heated rivalries in Brazilian football. History

Founded in 1899, Vitória is one of the pioneering clubs of Brazilian football and the oldest in Bahia. The club experienced its best years in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship during the 1990s and 2000s, coming close to competing for national titles. Barradão, its stadium, is one of the most passionate in the Northeast and the stage for the historic battles of the Ba-Vi. The Leão accumulates dozens of state titles and remains one of the most beloved institutions in Bahian sports culture.
