History
Ypiranga was born in Salvador in the early twentieth century, when football was taking its first steps in the Bahian capital. The club quickly established itself as one of the main forces in the state, competing in the early editions of the Bahian Championship. In the decades of 1910 and 1920, Ypiranga lived its golden age, conquering state titles and rivaling clubs such as Vitória, Botafogo-BA, and Galícia. Its matches stirred Salvadorian society of that era. With the professionalization of football and the rise of Bahia and Vitória as dominant forces, Ypiranga lost ground in the main stage, but remains a symbol of Bahian football's memory, maintaining sporting and social activities in Salvador.
