Zamalek SC
Zamalek SC is Al Ahly's greatest rival and the second most successful club in Egypt and Africa, with an impressive record of national and continental titles. Founded in 1911 in Cairo under the name Qasr El Nile, the club adopted the name Zamalek in 1952, in honor of the neighborhood where it is located. The 'Egyptian Derby' between Zamalek and Al Ahly is considered one of the greatest derbies in the world.
History
Zamalek has won five CAF Champions League titles, making it the second most successful African club in the tournament, behind only rival Al Ahly. With over 13 Egyptian league championships, the club is an undisputed reference in Arab and African football. The rivalry with Al Ahly has produced unforgettable moments in African football over decades.
