Tostão
Tostão was one of the most complete players of his generation, combining tactical intelligence, technical skill, and a unique game vision to orchestrate the attack of the greatest Brazilian national team of all time in 1970. Despite his short stature, he was remarkable for his ability to move between the lines, create plays, and finish with precision, often acting as a modern false center-forward decades before the concept emerged. He suffered a serious retinal injury during his career that threatened his participation in the 1970 World Cup, but recovered and was a key player in the three-time World Cup championship in Mexico. After retiring while still young on medical advice, he became a doctor and one of the most respected sports columnists in Brazil.
